Alitalia
Compagnia Aerea Italiana is Italy’s leading and completely private airline, serving 23 million passengers and operating 4,500 flights weekly across a network of 79 destinations – 26 in Italy and 53 in the rest of the world.
The Alitalia network is based at 7 airports (Rome, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Turin, Venice, Naples and Catania), providing a wide range of point-to-point domestic links as well as many international and intercontinental flights, operated directly or through code-sharing agreements with 29 airlines.
A plan is underway to renew the fleet that at present numbers 147 planes. In 2009 and 2010 16 new Airbus A320 planes and 2 new Airbus A330 joined Alitalia fleet.
